Job Summary

The Communications Content Specialist is responsible for supporting and driving the successful design, creation, delivery, and or administration of communication programs focused on how we drive responsible growth, advance the brand, and enhance culture. This includes coordination of communications activities tailored to business objectives, in alignment with brand voice and standards.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for marketing project management to include developing project plans, schedules, milestones and tracking effectiveness and timeliness of assigned projects.
  • Brand and Communication Support: In conjunction with leadership, develops and implements integrated communication plans and content to support the marketing and other goals of the corporation.
    • Understands the core elements on ANB’s brand and culture. Creates high caliber, targeted copy aligned to organizational internal and external needs through various channels such as website, press releases, advertising, social media, digital marketing, marketing campaigns, etc.
    • Writes, proofreads, and edits marketing materials, bank collateral and internal templates to ensure accuracy of information and conformity to brand standards.
    • Supports the development of communication strategy and executes it via a spectrum of delivery channels.
    • Helps manage communication effectiveness measurement and analysis.
    • Recommends appropriate solutions to stakeholders; helping them develop communication competence and make informed decisions.
    • Creates engaging and compelling content applying search engine optimization (SEO) strategies and brand style guides to champion the consistency and evolution of the brand voice.
    • Partners with Talent Management to coordinate internal and external communications and the internal integration of all marketing efforts. Facilitates internal integration of messaging to company intranet with relevant and current content. Partners with content management owners of ANB’s intranet and website to keep content current, accessible and responsive to communication needs.
    • Has the ability to create communication with visual appeal and execute approved project requests that require basic graphic design work.

  • Promotion and Industry Knowledge: Develops and implements tools, materials and content to support American National Bank’s business objectives and marketing plans.
    • Partners with lines of business across markets to develop and distribute materials that promote their services and increase visibility in the community.
    • Understands the basic business of banking and the core needs of each line of business.
    • Stays current on emerging industry trends. Develops dynamic and competitive sales support materials for commercial and consumer clients. Maintain current library of materials on ANB intranet.
    • Partners with team members and leaders, as needed, to coordinate goal-focused, timely and well-integrated internal and external communication messaging and deliverables.

Experience Needed:

  • Thorough understanding of marketing elements (including traditional and digital marketing such as SEO/Social media etc.) and market research methods.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a related or similar role with demonstrated success through sample work of professional writing experience in journalism, advertising or marketing.
  • Some graphic design experience helpful.
  • Previous banking or financial industry experience strongly preferred.

Education, Licensure & Certification Needed:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Advertising or related discipline strongly preferred. Progressive and proficient industry-related experience can substitute for formal education.

Skills & Abilities Needed:

  • Experience preparing and executing measurable, results-oriented communication plans.
  • Excellent project management skills with general marketing knowledge and the ability to continuously learn, as well as stay abreast of industry trends.
  • Strong business acumen tied to the ability to understand organizational needs, goals and competitive advantage.
  • Able to work effectively at all levels of the organization with an ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal.
