Senior Front End Developer

Job Description

As a key member of the DMSi team, the Senior Front End Developer will work as an architect, designer and developer on DMSi’s application development platform in a fast-paced, Agile environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  1. Building beautiful and intuitive user interfaces for new and existing single-page web applications (SPAs) using modern web libraries and design patterns (ES2015+, React)
  2. Writing clean, modular, and testable JavaScript code
  3. Building robust and efficient web application programming interfaces (APIs) using various frameworks and tools
  4. Translating requirements into stable, working, high-performance web applications
  5. Working with distributed teams including offshore and nearshore to implement industry best practices and standards

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  1. A passion for utilizing best practices in front-end (UI) architecture, including performance, accessibility, and reusability
  2. Extensive knowledge of various JavaScript design patterns (Object-Oriented and functional programming) and frameworks (AngularJS and React)
  3. Extensive experience with Responsive Web design
  4. Experience writing and debugging dynamic client-side applications using client-side UI libraries and frameworks like React, Angular.js, Mustache, Ember.js, or similar
  5. Highly proficient in design/development of standalone and web applications using several front technologies including: HTML5, CSS3, DOM API, JavaScript, Web Sockets, Local Storage, and Client-Side Caching
  6. Experience with server-side programming paradigms, constructs, and idioms
  7. Experience consuming JSON APIs in client-side frameworks and knowledge of cross-browser issues
  8. Mobile Web Development for Android, Windows Mobile, iPad, and iPhones
  9. Advance Skills in working with version control tools such as GIT
  10. Experience writing unit tests/Exposure to TDD
  11. Knowledge of software development methodologies and practices, especially Agile/iterative development processes
  12. Ability to code using scalable framework for future enhancements and sprints
  13. Ability to review requirements and articulate/propose alternate solutions to application architecture
  14. Other duties as assigned

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Normal office environment with the use of computers and telephone systems; no unusual physical demands.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field

3+ years of related programming experience
