POSITION SUMMARY:

The Logistics Intern is exposed to the day-to-day functions of the Logistics & Supply Chain functions within Lozier and will assist in the planning and optimization of shipments to ensure our customers are provided with excellent service throughout the process. The intern will work on a variety of projects to support the Logistics team and will gain knowledge through cross-department work with sales, purchasing, operations and account services.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Learn the Lozier internal and external shipment and routing systems and processes to be able to analyze the current state and develop reports and a standard process regarding shipments.
  • Assist in developing a standard communication process regarding shipments for our customers.
  • Collaborate with employees from across the organization to learn about our business and identify creative ways to solve problems within the logistics department.
  • Demonstrate regular attendance and timeliness in reporting to work, meetings, and completing assignments.

  • Ability to work and interact well with others at all levels of the organization.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education: College student of at least Sophomore standing (Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management or Data Science preferred)

Experience: No experience required

Required Skills:

    • Basic PC Skills (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)

    • Intermediate time management, organization and prioritization skills

    • Analytical skills

    • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal

    • The ability to work well in a team environment
