The Engineer monitors, maintains, tunes, designs, and documents the College's Local and Wide Area Network infrastructures (LAN) (WAN), video, data network devices, PBX systems and call accounting systems. Works closely with other members of the Information Technology Services (ITS) team and members of the College community to ensure voice, video and data network technology devices are functional and properly maintained. Supervises staff, as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in Network Technology or related discipline plus 5 years firewall, router, or switch configuration, troubleshooting networks, LAN/WAN and/or VOiP / phone system experience. Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or vendor equivalent. Certified training with firewalls, routers, switches, protocol analyzers, or network management systems. Equivalent combination of education and/or work experience including part time considered. Hiring process includes a background check.
NOTE: College degrees obtained outside the U.S. accepted only when interpreted by transcript service members of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services.
