Facilities Trades Manager

***Must have minimum of three years team management leadership experience***

Our Facilities Trades Manager will be responsible for the overall day to day operations, planning, directing, coordinating and evaluation of technical trades department including the development of department goals and objectives that are consistent with the Nebraska Medicine and University of Nebraska Medical Center mission. Prepare, monitor, and have accountability for department budgets. Manage the work and performance of technical trade technicians including but not limited to: plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, mechanical, and grounds. Work collaboratively with all levels of the hospital and university interdisciplinary leadership. Measure, assess and continuously improve the departments' performance with the mission of promoting and maintaining an environment and culture that enables the organization to fulfill its mission by meeting or exceeding its goals.

Note: This position will not be required to complete an assessment at time of application. Top Qualified candidates that move forward in the process will be asked to complete an assessment at a later time.

Required Qualifications:

  • - Minimum of five years' experience in one of the following technical trades: electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, mechanical, or grounds.

  • - Minimum of three years leadership experience required.

  • - Bachelor's degree in engineering, business or related technical field or equivalent experience required.

  • - Demonstrated leadership and management skills required.

  • - Moderate to advanced proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, data analysis, and business case development.

  • - Excellent written, verbal communication and public speaking skills.

  • - Ability to lead several projects/programs/initiatives simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • - Joint Commission and CMS experience preferred.

  • - Master's degree preferred.

  • - Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM) certification preferred.

  • - Expertise in the areas of Joint Commission regulations including the requirements of Life Safety and Environment of Care Standard preferred.
