Position located in Omaha, NE.

National Indemnity Company has a Senior IT Security Engineer position immediately available. This position is located in Omaha, NE so must be willing to relocate if not in Omaha, as well as work on-site in our downtown Omaha location.

Position is responsible for developing system and network security design standards, network diagrams and technical design documents. Implements system and network security policies and procedures. Troubleshoots access problems and ensures network (platform, LAN/WAN, telecommunications, and voice) security access. Works to develop systems to protect against unauthorized access, modification, or destruction of critical IT systems. Tracks and ensures compliance with audits, Payment Card Industry (PCI), state regulations, etc. Works with outside vendors and auditors to answer questions, provide data, document policies or procedures for auditing requirements, and to schedule and plan such security testing as attack and penetration tests or other voluntary audits.

Required Knowledge:

• Degree in information systems, management information systems, IT management, or other IT degree

•  (engineering, math, and science degrees are acceptable substitute degrees)

• 5+ years related work experience

• Experience with operating systems, browsers, and various networking devices including Cisco

• Experience with system log and security log analysis

• Experience with firewall monitoring, management and administration

• Experience with security related best practices, standards and procedures, and HW/SW products

Preferred Knowledge:

• Department practices and procedures

• Insurance related background

• CISSP, CISA, CCSP (Cisco), MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) with Security Specialization
