Academic Neurologist sought to join the Department of Neurological Sciences Faculty at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) to enhance our regional Stroke Program and inpatient/outpatient Vascular Neurology care. The candidate must be BC/BE with fellowship training in Vascular Neurology. This faculty member would participate in inpatient/outpatient clinical programs, including the inpatient stroke service and assist in the Tele-Stroke Program. Inpatient and outpatient clinical activities are supported by advance practice providers. The candidate will participate in teaching opportunities with Neurology Residents/medical students and in research trials, in a supportive academic, hospital, and community environment. The Nebraska Stroke Center was certified by the Joint Commission as a Primary Stroke Center in 2005 and certified as a Comprehensive Stroke Center in November 2017. The Stroke Center is the regional leader, for a large geographic area, in providing high-level stroke care with a multidisciplinary team that includes Vascular Neurologists, Endovascular Neurosurgeons, Neurointensivists, Emergency Physicians, and Neuroradiologists, in a dedicated Clinical Neurosciences inpatient ward and ICU, and an outpatient center, supported by mid-levels and case managers. Neurology Residents and other Neurology faculty contribute to the clinical services staffing in inpatient care and after hours call coverage.
