This is a Researcher position to perform studies on mechanisms of alcohol-associated liver disease and the related comorbid condition of liver metastatic disease of colorectal cancer. The Researcher will be responsible for in vivo rodent models of alcohol-induced organ injury and in vitro approaches using cells lines and the isolation and culturing of primary hepatocytes and non-parenchymal liver cells. Additionally, independent participation in planning experimental designs, carrying out the procedures, and performing animal experiments using mouse models colorectal liver metastasis is expected. Wiil also be involved in the collection, analysis, and interpretation of experimental data, presentation of data at national meetings, manuscript preparation, and grant writing. Experiments with human and animal tissues will be done with in vitro experiments using routine cellular, molecular biology, and protein chemistry procedures. These routine lab procedures include microscopy, histology, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, ELISA, flow cytometry, Western blot, quantitative PCR, molecular cloning, and miRNA analyses. Also, the Researcher will be responsible for assisting other individuals in the lab and will perform duties as assigned such as maintaining laboratory inventory and ordering needed supplies, preparing supplies for experiments, record-keeping, analyzing research data, assisting with the proper maintenance of lab safety documents, and overall compliance with regulatory requirements.
