Department:  Emergency Preparedness

Business Unit: Safety and Facilities

Location: Energy Plaza, Omaha, NE

Duration:  August - December 2024

Work Schedule: Will be determined by student's class schedule

Pay: $19.38 - $23.69

Job Responsibilities:

1. Assist with plan and program updates based on recent state or federal updates, lessons learned from recent events or other necessary determinates.
2. Assist with data gathering and plan development within the business continuity program.
3. Provide assistance and coordination with the emergency response team (ERT) training, meetings, and planning efforts.
4. Partner with the OPPD EM team to create and/or facilitate exercises for internal program efforts 

Qualifications

 

Specific fields of study required: 

University of Nebraska ¿ Omaha Emergency Management Degree Program

  • Junior or Senior university level education in emergency management. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills.
  • Must be able to maintain positive and productive relationships with representatives of outside agencies and businesses.
  • 2.5 GPA or higher is required
  • Current full-time student attending an accredited college/university

Technical Ability (i.e. software):

  • Knowledge and use of Microsoft products, including but not limited to word, excel and PowerPoint.
